Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey looks to put injury problems behind him
Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey is delighted to be injury free and will be looking to stay fit and healthy after a successful pre-season.
The 24-year-old joined the Villans from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2021, but has been unable to really show what he is capable of because of a string of injury problems.
However, after a successful pre-season where he has scored three goals, the Jamaica international revealed his delight at his current health in an interview with VillaTV.

Bailey said: “It feels amazing. I feel good, I trust my body more.
“This is what I’ve always wanted to do for the club, and I will always try and give 100 percent any time I get the chance to do so,”
“It was rough due to injury last year but I feel good about this season and I’m looking forward to it.”
Big season for Bailey
Bailey’s second season in England will be a big one as he will be looking to finally show why Aston Villa paid £25m for him last summer.
The Jamaica international came to England as a versatile left-footed forward, capable of being deployed on either wing to great effect.
His dribbling ability, electric speed, and flair made him a must-watch player in Germany, and he caused terror for Bundesliga defences, providing a goal or assist every 2.4 games during his time in Germany.

In his debut season at Villa Park, he was only able to manage one goal and two assists, with limited game time due to several injuries including a severe thigh problem that made him miss nine games.
There were signs of excitement during the season, especially his goal against Everton in September 2021, however these were admittedly few and far between.
After a successful pre-season where Bailey has been fit and firing, he will hope to build on his performances and take his good form and health into the new season.
In other Aston Villa news, six players could be set to leave the club this summer.
