Bournemouth join race to sign Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause

Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause is a wanted man with newly-promoted Bournemouth now tempted by the Englishman, according to talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old had a busy summer in signing a new deal at Villa Park and having surgery on his knee but all that could now see him play away from the Midlands on loan for the 2022-23 campaign.

The Cherries are looking to bolster the depth of their defence and have also shortlisted former Villa loanee Axel Tuanzebe from Manchester United.

Scott Parker is not the only manager who fancies adding Hause to his armoury though as The Athletic reported on 25 July that recently relegated Watford are also looking to put a deal together.

Bournemouth are in the market for two new centre-halves but one of those could be Liverpool giant Nat Phillips who spent the second half of the 2021-22 season at Dean Court, helping them to promotion.

Easy decision

Assuming that both clubs will offer a similar financial deal to Aston Villa, it should not take the hierarchy long to decide where they would prefer Hause to play this season.

Any chance to get a player to play Premier League football is worth taking and with Diego Carlos now another body in his way at Villa Park, he is in need of a fresh start.

Steven Gerrard won’t see Bournemouth as direct competitors to his star-studded squad this season with the newly-promoted side likely to be fighting to survive rather than thrive.

Not only that, but Hause could also be part of the sturdy defence that takes crucial points off some of Villa’s closest rivals and as he would be on loan, he won’t be allowed to do the same to Gerrard.

Time is nearly up for Hause at Aston Villa but maybe he could do one last moment of magic at Dean Court that may just be the difference for his parent club.
