View: Aston Villa flop Morgan Sanson still has a future at the club
Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson has had a hugely unsuccessful time since joining the club, however, could still have a future at Villa Park?
The 27-year-old joined the club from Marseille in January 2021 for a reported fee of £14million but has only made 20 appearances for the club, in a year and a half.
However, the French midfielder could still have a future at the club after he featured in the majority of the club’s pre-season game, looking increasingly sharp.

Birmingham Mail’s Ashley Preece said on Sanson: “Sanson’s one of a group who’s really emerged from pre-season.
“Looks physically stronger now and has remained injury-free.
“He needs a run of games and, should his performances continue, that will surely be the case.
“A huge, huge season for the Frenchman who’s still very much part of Steven Gerrard’s plans as I understand it.”
Sanson future?
Morgan Sanson’s failure at Villa Park came as a surprise as he arrived in the Midlands as a higly-touted midfielder.
The midfielder, who started his career at FC Le Mans, had a successful four-year stint at Marseille after making his name at fellow Ligue 1 club, Montpellier.
Sanson made 156 appearances for the club scoring 24 years and providing 22 assists during a fruitful stint at The Olympians.

He established himself as an energetic box-to-box midfielder, who would roam around the pitch always making himself available for a pass.
The former Marseille midfielder is composed in possession, has good dribbling ability as well as is a capable defensive midfielder.
His career has clearly stagnated since moving to Villa Park, but the minutes he made in pre-season, some at the expense of new signing Boubacar Kamara, and the performances he put in during the Austrailia tour are good reading for his future.
This is the best move for all parties.
In other Aston Villa news, it may best for both parties if Keinan Davis departs the club this summer.
