Keinan Davis’ move to Nottingham Forest in doubt as Reds consider alternatives to Aston Villa man – report
Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis could be denied his move to Nottingham Forest as they are lining up alternative targets, according to The Mirror.
Forest have already signed Taiwo Awoniyi, but had held talks with Villa about a move for Davis earlier in July according to The Telegraph.
There was hope that Davis’ move to the City Ground could be revived, but The Mirror have poured cold water on those hopes by reporting that they are eyeing up alternatives.

The report states that while a move is still possible, Steve Cooper is eyeing up a move for Watford star Emmanuel Dennis instead.
This leaves Davis caught in the middle, with the striker being uncertain about where his future lies as the new season edges ever closer.

Let him go
As likeable and talented as Davis is, it is obvious that he will barely play a minute at Villa Park next season.
Villa have Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings as established first team players with Cameron Archer also continuing his rapid rise through the ranks.
With Villa possibly moving to a single striker system after the impressive form of Leon Bailey in pre-season, Davis is facing yet another season on the side lines.
There will naturally be some interest from the Championship after his strong performances for Forest last season, but talk has gone quiet.
The Athletic reported back in June that newly relegated Watford were interested in the powerful striker, but this interest seems to have faded.
Davis has worked to sort his fitness out for years and he seemed to do just that at Forest, as well as finally finding a scoring touch.
He deserves regular football at a good level and he is not going to find that at Villa, so the club should open the door for him to leave.
In other Aston Villa news, young defender Josh Feeney could be set for a first team chance.
