Alan Hutton believes that Carney Chukwuemeka will leave Aston Villa for the right price
We’re delighted to welcome former Scotland defender Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.
Alan Hutton expects that Carney Chukwuemeka will leave Aston Villa this summer, but the club will get a good deal for the midfielder.
The former Villa star believes that Chukwuemeka is an outstanding prospect and that it is no surprise that some of Europe’s biggest teams are chasing his services.
Chukwuemeka has been in a contract stand-off with Villa for some time, with the England youth international having one year left on his current deal.

“As far as I’m aware he’s not travelled to Australia, which says to me that he will probably be on the move,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“There are some big teams interested in him, so they obviously see his potential and all the boys I spoke to within the team say how good he actually is, that he is an absolute standout at his age.
“Going on all that, you would like to think that £20million is a good price because he could reach a certain level.
“They probably thought that if he does leave there would be a deal in place with sell-on fees in case he does hit the heights that Aston Villa expect.”

Would be fortunate
It is heavily expected that Chukwuemeka will leave Villa inside the next year, with the starlet able to negotiate a deal with foreign clubs directly in January.
However, it is that aspect of the situation which means Villa would be fortunate to get any sort of meaningful fee.
He is available for practically nothing in January, with clubs only needing to pay a small compensation fee to sign him.
If they are able to start a bidding war for him this summer, they may be able to get a few million, but they will not get close to £20million.
In other Aston Villa news, Steven Gerrard has told the squad that he wants a top seven finish next season.
