View: Aston Villa must spark Carney Chukwuemeka bidding war

Aston Villa must look to cash in on Carney Chukwuemeka amid the growing interest in his services from Europe as well as the Premier League.

The 18-year-old was left out by Steven Gerrard from the pre-season squad and there certainly appears to be a problem between the two.

With the midfielder not signing a new deal as well, it does seem like his time at Villa Park is numbered.

As he’s only got a year left on his deal, this summer is the last one in which they can expect a decent transfer fee.

Barcelona are said to be interested in signing him and PSG have also recently joined the chase. [The Mirror]

Both clubs are known to sign talented young players and then slowly integrate them into their first team within a few years.

Now, Liverpool are also said to be looking at the 18-year-old, putting Villa in a very good position.

The Reds hierarchy rate the youngster extremely highly but it remains to be seen whether or not they make a move this summer. [Goal]

They can now spark a bidding war for the player and use that money to strengthen some key positions.

The club seem to be well on course to become the best of the rest and we cannot wait for next season to begin.

In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
