Aston Villa ace Mahmoud Trezeguet joins Trabzonspor on permanent deal
Aston Villa have made their second sale of the summer as winger Mahmoud Trezeguet joins Trabzonspor, the club have confirmed.
The Egyptian winger joined Villa from Turkish side Kasimpasa following their promotion in 2019 and had his fair share of highlights in the Premier League.
However, the club confirmed on Monday afternoon (4 July) via Twitter that he has swapped the claret and blue of Aston Villa for that of Trabzonspor.

This is his second stint back in Turkey since joining Villa after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir.
Trezeguet proved to be a hit back in the Super Lig, grabbing six goals and three assists in 13 games to secure a move to the newly crowned Turkish Champions.

Farewell to a hero
Trezeguet was a divisive character at Villa and he never really found consistent form, but Villa owe him a great deal of gratitude.
He was arguably the most important figure in the club’s survival in 2020, including then-captain Jack Grealish.
Even with the heroics of Grealish, Villa still looked down and out going into the final four games of the season.
However, Trezeguet grabbed a brace against Crystal Palace to keep their hopes alive as well as the winner against Arsenal to lift them out of the bottom three.
This was on top of his dramatic last-gasp winner in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Leicester City in January that sent Villa to Wembley.
He had a mainly positive second season at Villa, but he was struck down by an ACL injury just as he started to find goalscoring form again in April 2021.
Trezeguet had to wait until January to make a comeback, but Steven Gerrard was left unimpressed after he dived to try and win a penalty in his first game back against Brentford.
Regardless of how his final appearance went, Trezeguet will go down in Villa history for his survival heroics in 2020.
In other Aston Villa news, the club’s Young Lions dominated as England won the U19 Euros.
