Alan Hutton: Steven Gerrard and Michael Beale can form great Aston Villa-QPR relationship that works both ways
We’re delighted to welcome former Scotland defender Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa...
Alan Hutton has insisted that Steven Gerrard and Michael Beale can form a great relationship between Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers in years to come.
The ex-Villa defender admitted that not only will the Lions loan younger players to the Championship side, but they could also get first choice on any up-and-coming talent from the Londoners.
Hutton namedropped Keinan Davis as one player who could be the first to swap Villa Park for Beale and QPR next season in the Championship after his spell at Nottingham Forest.

“I think obviously Michael Beale will know everybody within that club,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“He’ll know if he can take any youngsters, the likes of Keinan Davis, these types of guys, the boys who are just on the outskirts of the first team who are obviously very good. They need that game time so Beale would obviously be happy to take them.
“Likewise, the other way, if obviously, QPR have got a player coming through the ranks who is going to be the next big star, you’d like to think he would go to Steven Gerrard first.
“You would like to think it could be something that can work out on both ends.”

Brilliant.
Of course, it was gutting to lose someone with Beale’s ability.
But, it will always have been his goal to leave coaching behind and go into management to really test himself after some amazing years at Liverpool, Sao Paulo and Rangers as well as Villa Park.
The Lions moved quickly to bring in Neil Critchley so that was never a problem.
Now it is about finding a positive outcome from Beale moving on, and forming this partnership could be critical for our players, as well as potential future stars as Hutton mentions.
This is certainly one to watch, not only in this summer window, but for many years to come.
