Aston Villa could be open to selling Douglas Luiz and Morgan Sanson this summer – report
Aston Villa are preparing to move a raft of first-team players out and could be open to Douglas Luiz and Morgan Sanson being part of that, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Luiz, who arrived at Villa in 2019, has been heavily linked with a move to Italy in recent weeks, while Sanson has found minutes hard to come by at Villa Park.
In a Q&A with Birmingham Mail readers, journalist Ashley Preece said his feeling was that Villa are happy to let both go.

“Villa, I feel, are quite open to allowing Sanson and Douglas to depart should better options become available,” he told readers on Monday afternoon (27 June).
However, Preece also said there is no strong desire to leave on the player’s side when answering a different question.
“Douglas is happy at Villa and wants to stay. Villa are relaxed about his situation. Douglas’ reps will speak with Johan Lange to map out what’s next.”

Are they staying or going?
The situation surrounding Luiz is quickly growing tiresome for many, with nobody really clear about what is going on.
He has long been linked with a move away, with Preece noting in the Q&A that Villa tried to sell Luiz before.
As for Sanson, it seems highly unlikely that he will be a Villa player next season after enduring a torrid spell at the club.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Galatasaray this week, with Preece mentioning that “a few clubs” were interested in him during the Q&A.
Uncertainty is something that often surrounds Villa’s transfer business, with moves and new deals often coming out of the blue.
Last season saw Villa sign Danny Ings and Calum Chambers with zero rumours or so much as a teaser from the club, just the club making an announcement.
The club adopted the same strategy with new contracts, with new deals for Matty Cash and Jacob Ramsey being announced out of the blue.
Ultimately, the only people that know what is actually happening with Luiz is the player, Gerrard and Lange, but the uncertainty sure is getting irritating.
In other Aston Villa news, two of the club’s starlets were involved in England Under-19s latest victory at the Under-19 Euros.
