
Carney Chukwuemeka scores again for England U19s as Aston Villa teen shines v Serbia in Slovakia
Aston Villa teen Carney Chukwuemeka scored again for England’s Under-19s as they beat Serbia in their second group stage game at the UEFA Under-19 Euro 2022 championships in Slovakia.
Chukwuemeka, 18, netted with an incredibly cool finish in the 68th minute to help the Young Lions on their way to a 4-0 win.
The former Northampton Town midfielder showcased a striking degree of calm as he side-footed the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the tournament.
Tottenham’s Dane Scarlett scored twice in the first half before Chukwuemeka grabbed his second goal in as may games at the Under-19 Euros. Sheffield United’s Daniel Jebbison rounded off the win in stoppage time.
Chukwuemeka also scored in England’s opening win over Austria’s Under-19s while the Young Lions’ final group stage match is against Israel on 25 June.
Following their win over Serbia, England hvae now qualified for a semi-final clash against either France of Italy, which take place on 28 June.
The Aston Villa wonderkid was born in Austria and was also eligible to play for Nigeria before opting to represent the England youth teams.

He’s now played at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level for England while he also made 12 senior appearances for Aston Villa in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
Steven Gerrard played the Young Lion in three of the last five games of the league campaign and even opted to start him against Burnley in a 1-1 draw at Villa Park on 19 May.
Worryingly for Villa fans, Chukwuemeka’s contract at Villa Park expires in just over a year’s time.
Spanish news outlet Sport reported on 25 May that Barcelona have been in talks with the youngster’s agents while Arsenal are also said to be keen on signing him.
In other Aston Villa news, the Villans are in pursuit of Anderlecht defender Sergio Gomez.
