Aston Villa have reached full agreement to sign Rangers talent Rory Wilson

Aston Villa have reached a full agreement to sign Rangers teenager Rory Wilson, according to a report by Fabrizio Romano.

The Villans will pay an initial fee of £350,000 plus add-ons worth up to £1million based on the player’s performance.

With the personal terms agreed upon last week and the deal now “done” according to the Sky journalist, the paperwork will be signed on 1 July.

Romano said on his personal Twitter: “Aston Villa and Rangers have now full agreement for 16-yo Scottish striker Rory Wilson’s transfer.

“Villa will pay £350k plus add-ons reaching £1m based on PL appearances.

“Personal terms finalised last week, deal now done. Paperwork to be signed on July 1.”

Future.

Rangers made it very difficult but the Villans have finally got their man. The 16-year-old must be a very talented player because this deal seemed very difficult to get over the line.

I’m sure the fee agreed on is slightly more than the Lions chiefs would have wanted to given his age but if you consider the money the Villa Park outfit has splashed on signings of late – £350,000 is peanuts.

With that being said they won’t want to part with their money too easily at the risk of other teams seeing this saga and adopting the same hardball approach as the Scots under the impression that Steven Gerrard’s side will pay big bucks.

They need to be smart with their money and think long-term which in fairness the Wilson deal certainly is.

Under the right guidance, he could be a future star and it is a huge win that he will be playing for Villa.
