Jurgen Klopp reaction to Philippe Coutinho shared in Aston Villa tunnel
Jurgen Klopp was seen sharing a warm embrace with Aston Villa playmaker Philippe Coutinho in the tunnel at Villa Park on Tuesday [May 10].
The pair previously enjoyed two years together at Liverpool before the Brazil international left Merseyside for a move to Barcelona.
With the 29-year-old’s time in Spain not going to plan, he was shipped out on several loan spells as he now finds himself with the Lions where he will be staying permanently, according to The Guardian.
Coutinho’s involvement wasn’t enough to see the Villans beat the Reds as they push for the Premier League title, losing the game 2-1.
There was no bad blood between Coutinho and his former Liverpool colleagues as he reminisced with his former teammates, staff as well as Klopp.
Great news.
Seeing how fondly the Liverpool squad remember the Aston Villa attacker is a very good sign and hopefully, he can create that sort of legacy at Villa Park.

It was a weirdly emotional night with Steven Gerrard and Danny Ings both having ties to the Merseysiders but as expected it was business as usual.
The Lions gave them a huge scare but there is still a lot of work to do from the boss and players to win those games.
Bringing in a player with the quality of Coutinho is a great way to bridge the gap between the Premier League’s elite and hopefully, the Villa fans see him return to his best after failing to perform at Barcelona and Bayern Munich in recent years.
He showed great form on his return to England, seemingly relishing the challenge of the Prem. Hopefully, with the support of his former captain – now manager – he can return to his best.
In other Aston Villa news, Aston Villa are now “really confident” of sealing permanent Philippe Coutinho deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.
