Rangers teenager Rory Wilson signs Adidas deal ahead of proposed Aston Villa move – report
Rangers teenager Rory Wilson has signed a “six-figure boot deal” with Adidas ahead of his proposed move to Aston Villa, the Daily Record reports.
Despite being only 16 and yet to sign a professional playing contract, the Scottish striker’s profile has apparently made him big money already, in an agreement to wear the German manufacturer’s merchandise.
The four-and-a-half year deal comes ahead of a summer switch, with the player already having told the reigning Scottish champions he wishes to move on.

While the Daily Record report has the Villans are “leading the English Premier League chase for his signature”, the Birmingham Mail report that the deal is already done.
The Record says: “The 16-year-old is seen as one of the best young players in the United Kingdom and the German sports brand beat off stiff competition from rival competitors to get him on-board.”
Wilson scored the winner as the Rangers under-18s beat rivals Celtic 2-1 at the weekend (30 April).
Superstar in the making
Although the compensation fee that the club are due to send to Glasgow is yet to be agreed it looks like it will be worth it for the prodigious young talent.
Gers were keen to keep hold of him, and his quality has shone through recently as he had also scored in the victorious Scottish Youth Cup final against Hearts a week before the winner against Celtic.
Manager Steven Gerrard’s presence is sure to have had an effect on bringing such a highly-rated talent from his former side.

While he is clearly going to be one for the future the boss obviously has his eye on goals wherever he can get them from.
With Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins already in place, the former Liverpool captain is widely reported to be interested in bringing former teammate Luis Suarez to Birmingham.
The club will hope Wilson can follow in the footsteps of the likes of Carney Chukwuemeka and Tim Iroegbunam who have since broken into the first team following arrivals from Northampton Town and West Brom respectively.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier today (2 May) that Bundesliga sides are hoping to sign 18-year-old Chukwuemeka this summer however, so the Villans have to make sure the hunter doesn’t become the hunted.
In other Aston Villa news, Gerrard has backed his current strike partnership after the both scored in victory over Norwich.
