Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis suffers injury blow on loan at Nottingham Forest
Keinan Davis has been ruled out of Nottingham Forest’s clash against West Brom tonight with the Aston Villa forward suffering from an injury.
Ahead of kick-off at the City Ground, it was confirmed that Davis, 24, has been left out of Steve Cooper’s squad.
Writing via his personal Twitter account, The Athletic journalist Paul Taylor reported that the Villa loanee is “unlikely to play again in the remaining games of the normal season” but could return in time for the play-offs.
Huge blow
Davis has had a really good spell on loan at Forest so for him to miss their remaining games of the normal season is a huge blow.
Since joining the East Midlands club in January, Davis has scored five goals and supplied three assists in 19 appearances across all competitions.
He scored against Birmingham earlier this month so Villa fans will no doubt be gutted that he won’t get a chance to score against West Brom either.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Davis at Villa Park.
Before he was sent on loan to Forest in January, the Stevenage-born striker had played just once for Villa’s first team in all competitions.
That appearance came in the loss to Southampton in November so he’s hardly in Steven Gerrard’s plans.
Villa’s best hope with Davis is to cash in on him and reinvest whatever money he raises into the squad.
In other Aston Villa news, the Villans might have to pay £40million to sign Yves Bissouma from Brighton.
