Cameron Archer: I’m becoming a new player in loan spell away from Aston Villa
Aston Villa sensation Cameron Archer claims he’s transformed as a player during his time out on loan this season.
Archer, 20, joined Preston North End on 24 January and has since been in stunning form, scoring seven goals in 15 appearances for the Championship club.
He’s clearly thrilled with the way his temporary spell away from Villa Park has gone and has revealed that fans should expect a different kind of player when he returns.

“I’m really enjoying it; I’ve loved every moment so far,” Archer said, as quoted on Aston Villa’s official website.
“I had a chat with the gaffer (Ryan Lowe) before I came here, and as a former striker, he tries to teach me, coach me and bring the best out of me.
“I can only thank him and be grateful to him for giving me the opportunity.”
The Walsall-born 20-year-old added: “Playing every week has helped me a lot; I feel like I’m learning. The Championship’s relentless with games coming thick and fast.
“I’m becoming a new player to who I was at Villa.”

Impressive
It’s not easy to join a mid-table Championship club midway through a season and shine – but Archer has done exactly that.
The England Under-20 international scored on his Preston debut against West Brom and has since followed that up with goals versus Hull, Peterborough, Reading, Bournemouth, Blackpool and QPR.
He’s set to make his 14th start for the Lancashire club when they welcome Millwall to Deepdale on Good Friday [15 April] and will be aiming to score for a third consecutive game.
Preston’s season has been over for a while but that hasn’t stopped Archer from taking his foot off the gas.
He impressed Villa fans in the first half of the season despite his limited game-time.
The youngster scored four goals in just two Carabao Cup appearances and while three of them were against League Two side Barrow, the fourth came against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa have a bright young prospect in Archer.
It remains to be seen what will happen of him in the summer because you’d imagine he’ll continue to struggle to get into Steven Gerrard’s senior squad unless there are injuries or suspensions.
Another loan spell could be on the cards but this time, with a team either gunning for promotion from the Championship or a club in the Premier League.
In other Aston Villa news, Gerrard is thrilled with the consistency of Matty Cash.
