Unai Emery wants to keep his best players at Aston Villa as fresh details emerge on new contracts at Villa Park.

Matty Cash is in the final stages of signing a new Aston Villa contract, as the right-back has had a flying start to the season.

Villa are also trying to tie down Morgan Rogers to a new deal, which will be heavily improved, but the England international carries a lot of interest from the likes of Chelsea, and it will prove a harder deal to conclude.

Another player Villa are looking at is John McGinn, whose best playing days are behind him, but the Scot is still seen as integral to Emery's squad.

But after the latest contract updates, Villa fans could get their wishes granted as Youri Tielemans could be next.

Youri Tielemans' Aston Villa contract expires in 2027

Tielemans is currently sidelined for Villa through injury, but is aiming for his return in late November.

Thankfully for him, his team is doing just fine without him, as Villa's 2-1 victory over Tottenham was a fifth straight win for Emery's men.

The contract updates prove that Villa are trying to retain their best players, and with Tielemans' contract set to expire at the end of the season, he needs to be next.

  • Tielemans' Aston Villa contract expires on 30 June 2027
  • He has played over 100 games for the Villans
  • The Belgian picked up a calf injury in November

Despite Aston Villa doing well without him, Tielemans is a fan favourite at B6 for what he brings to the team.

Just look at his consistency for Villa in the last two seasons. At only 28, he’s entering his prime with plenty still left in his legs.

Tielemans could spearhead Aston Villa's European glory dream

Tielemans has been at Villa for only two full seasons, but his contribution during that time cannot be understated.

The Belgian maestro was integral to getting the Villans back in Europe, and was a massive reason for the Champions League run that Villa Park witnessed last campaign.

With Villa now in the Europa League, Emery will be looking to claim back a trophy that was once his, and with Tielemans' return nearing, Villa could very well get their hands on a deserved European title.

That said, to put Villa fans at rest, NSWE Group should be doing everything they can to keep Tielemans around for a little bit longer.
