Aston Villa need to secure the futures of some of their young stars heading into the close of the winter market.

Unai Emery has welcomed multiple signings to Villa Park this month, including Tammy Abraham and Douglas Luiz.

NSWE have been working behind the scenes on multiple deals, and they could yet sanction further arrivals for Emery ahead of Monday's deadline.

However, the Villans know they will have to sell and loan players out with time to go, and Kosta Nedeljkovic's future hangs in the balance.

Wrexham look at Aston Villa's Kosta Nedeljkovic

According to Alan Nixon's Patreon on Sunday, Wrexham are looking at a deal to sign Nedeljkovic from Villa in the final days of the window.

Nedeljkovic is currently out on loan with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, but Villa may not be happy with his game time.

  • Nedeljkovic is 20-years-old
  • He has played five times for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season
  • Villa signed the defender from FK Crvena Zvezda in 2024

Wrexham are looking into the loan market themselves in a push for promotion to the Premier League. However, for them to secure a deal for the right-back, the Villans would need to be assured about the youngster's game time.

This could be a difficult deal to conclude however, as the Welsh side already have Manchester City loanee Issa Kabore playing well in Nedeljkovic's position.

Why Wrexham is a better place than RB Leipzig for Nedeljkovic

Nedeljkovic was loaned out to RB Leipzig almost exactly a year ago, as the defender made his move to Germany in February of 2025.

Since then, the 20-year-old has made just 17 appearances in total, with his loan deal set to expire in the summer.

Although Aston Villa may have concerns over the game time that Nedeljkovic will get at Wrexham, with Kabore already an important player for Phil Parkinson, he would surely have a better chance of playing in the Championship.

Add to the fact that the division is one of the most relentless ones in the world, with games coming thick and fast every week, injuries are bound to happen - the Serbian would soon get his chance to impress.

There's an obvious decision for internals at B6 to make, but Wrexham may need to cover the financial costs that it would take to cut the full-back's stay in Germany short.
