Aston Villa wanted to bring in Gabriel Sara from Galatasaray over the summer.

It was certainly a busy window in B6 after so many big-name sales.

Unai Emery knew he had to replace his best players and looks to have done well given the circumstances.

The deadline day arrivals of Ibrahim Mbaye and Taylor Harwood-Bellis capped off the business for the summer.

As positive as that may be, it looks as if the Villans didn't get all of their targets through the door.

Sara has long been linked with a Villa Park move, but there will be questions of why a move didn't happen this summer.

How much did Galatasaray reject for Gabriel Sara?

The Brazil international has certainly caught the eye since his move from Norwich City to Turkiye in 2024.

He contributed to 11 goals and assists from the middle of the park last time around.

That has seen interest emerge from away from the Super Lig throughout the summer window.

Turkish outlet Sabah reported on Sunday that Aston Villa showed interest in his signature over the summer.

Fulham and Newcastle United were also in the race for his signature.

Galatasaray ultimately decided to keep hold of the midfielder as offers only reached £17million.

That denied Sara from achieving his dream of playing in the Premier League, something that he could have fulfilled in B6.

Villa could certainly do with his quality as he would bring something they haven't had so far this season.

Why Sara would be perfect for Aston Villa right now

It has become a regular story for the Villans that they start the Premier League season slowly.

That was the case last time around and has certainly been on show to begin the current campaign.

Emery's side are yet to score in three outings, having most recently drawn 0-0 with Hull City.

That is exactly why Sara would be perfect as he has already racked up two goals and two assists in four Super Lig outings.

His influence infront of goal certainly would be useful right now in claret and blue as the need for a first goal of the season is massive right now.

Villa didn't pay what Galatasaray wanted and now face the frustration that comes with that.
