Alysson is reportedly expected to sign a deal to become a new Aston Villa player by the end of the month with his medical upcoming.

It emerged in November that Aston Villa were looking to sign Alysson from Brazilian side Gremio ahead of next summer's transfer window.

But on Wednesday Villa News reported that the Villans had agreed a deal for teenager Alysson already in what was termed an "excellent" piece of business for the club.

Alysson set for December medical in £10.5m Aston Villa transfer

Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported further details of the agreement which is set to be made official when it is signed in December, after a medical before the end of 2025.

According to the Italian journalist the cost at Villa Park is an initial €10 million (£8.74m) with a further €2m (£1.74) in add-ons, for a potential total value of €12m (£10.05m).

Alysson will then join Unai Emery's Aston Villa side once the transfer window opens in the New Year.

Alysson has had a breakout year in his home country this term, making 42 total appearances across all competitions in 2025, adding two goals and five assists.

Evann Guessand under threat already at Villa

A relatively low-cost youngster isn't a nailed-on first-team regular for Villa as soon as he joins but the news of his imminent arrival comes at a time where the most recent addition at that position is having obvious difficulties.

Evann Guessand was the headline signing in the summer transfer window at a cost of around £28 million including add-ons.

But the Ivorian has been struggling to get into the side under Emery for around a month now, after he was an unused sub against both Leeds and Wolves having only seen a handful of minutes against Bournemouth, and was left out of the squad altogether for the dramatic win over leaders Arsenal at the weekend.

Guessand did start the 4-3 win at Brighton but was berated by his manager for failings out of possession, and now a new potential threat to his career at Villa Park appears to be on the way.
