Three Aston Villa players who face an uncertain future before the end of the transfer window

Aston Villa are still expected to be active in the transfer window before the end of the market.

Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Alejandro Garnacho have all arrived during the summer window so far.

But with Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers, and Lucas Digne among those to have departed, Unai Emery still has work to do to strengthen his squad.

However, there is still uncertainty surrouding the futures of several Villa players before the end of the window.

There will be a balancing act in the next few weeks to ensure the squad is in a good shape for a campaign that will include Champions League football.

Here, Villa News looks at three players whose futures may lay away from Villa Park after the window.

Emiliano Martinez

The future of number one Emiliano Martinez is something Villa could do with resolving as soon as possible.

The Argentina international is regarded as one of Villa's best-ever goalkeepers, but he has been linked with the exit door again.

Serie A giants Juventus have been tracking the World Cup winner throughout the summer, though as yet nothing concrete has emerged.

But, if he were to depart then Villa do not want to be left scrambling for a new first-choice keeper in the final days of the window.

Ross Barkley

Despite the signings of Manzambi and Gomes, Villa are still said to be in the hunt for new midfield reinforcement.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, has been heavily linked.

Villa are a little short in midfield at the moment with Amadou Onana injured, and Boubakar Kamara on the comeback trail.

But with everyone fit, Ross Barkley would be even further down the pecking order, and he was already a bit-part player as it is.

If someone where to come in with the intention of signing him, you sense it is something Villa might seriously consider.

Kosta Nedeljkovic

Kosta Nedeljkovic is behind Matty Cash in the pecking order at right-back.

And even if Cash is unavailable, Villa have usually turned to Ezri Konsa to fill in there, though he himself has been linked with the exit door this summer.

As such, young Serbian Nedeljkovic has been linked with a loan exit this summer.

Indeed, the Daily Record has reported that Scottish Premiership giants Rangers are interested on securing a loan deal.

It feels like a move that would beneficial for all parties if they can get an agreement done.
