Robin Risser is on Aston Villa's growing list of goalkeeping targets this summer.

The Villans are hoping to gain more momentum with their summer transfers soon, as Unai Emery wants multiple additions.

It goes without saying, but lots depends on the future of Morgan Rogers, whom NSWE have slapped a £130million valuation on.

Arsenal are said to be the frontrunners for the England international, though a possible Villa Park stay has yet to be ruled out.

One area that Emery will be keen to address is the number-one spot, with Emi Martinez's future at B6 coming to an end.

Villa are preparing for the Argentine's exit, and are doing so by looking at the possibility of bringing Risser to the club.

Here's what you need to know about Robin Risser

According to French outlet L'Equipe, Risser is at the top of Villa's targets to replace Martinez.

The 21-year-old is currently in North America with France at the World Cup and has been monitored by the Villans for months.

The Frenchman is under contract with Ligue 1 outfit Lens until 2030, and after only signing with them last summer, the club is unwilling to part ways too easily.

When looking at Risser's stats, it's clear to see why Villa have their eyes on the young shot-stopper.

As highlighted by Aston Villa Statto on X, there was only one goalkeeper in Europe's top five leagues under the age of 21 who kept 10 or more clean sheets and made 75 or more saves, and that was Risser.

The keeper turned 21 in December and finished the Ligue 1 campaign with 11 clean sheets to his name, saving two out of the five penalties he faced, too.

He had a positive goal prevention return rate and boasted an impressive 69 per cent save percentage, only making one error that led to a goal for the opposition.

However, Risser would have big boots to fill if Martinez does leave.

The latest on Emi Martinez's future

It is expected that Juventus will complete the signing of Martinez at some point this summer.

Villa and the Bianconneri have been unable to reach an agreement on his value so far, but a compromise is getting closer.

A recent report from Tuttosport stated that Villa are "starting to crumble", having now reduced their asking price for Martinez to £8.6million plus future bonuses.

However, we all thought the 33-year-old was on his way out of Villa Park this time last summer.

Surely it can't happen again, right?
