Bryan King claims a big-money offer could tempt Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins to join Liverpool.

The ex-Villa scout is not sure a move to Anfield would suit the striker.

It comes after a report in The Sun (29 May) revealed that Liverpool are targeting Watkins as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez following the arrival of Arne Slot.

And King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - believes money will be a big factor.

“He is now playing for a Champions League club,” King said.

“He is a big fish at Villa, I’m not so sure he would be a big fish at Liverpool.

“But if the money is right and the wages are right, things change pretty quickly in football.”

Would Ollie Watkins quit Aston Villa to join Liverpool?

A move to Liverpool would surely be hard for Watkins to turn down.

While Villa are more of an attractive proposition than they were a few years ago, Liverpool remains one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Making a move to Anfield is a dream for most players.

For Unai Emery and Villa, they must do everything in their power to keep hold of Watkins.
