Bryan King believes Jhon Duran moving to West Ham United would be a good thing for Aston Villa.

The ex-Villa scout doesn't see the 20-year-old striker having a future under Unai Emery.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (9 July), Duran has agreed personal terms with West Ham with negotiations underway between the two clubs.

The Hammers' latest offer is currently worth £35million plus a 10 per cent sell-on clause.

And King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - claims that the fee is fantastic for the club.

“I think this would be a good bit of business for Villa,” King said.

“He doesn’t seem to be part of the future of the club. Therefore, if they can get that kind of money for a player who hasn’t been central to them, then perfect.

“It sounds like very good money for a player who has hardly been used.”

Will Jhon Duran leave Aston Villa and join West Ham United?

It is difficult to see what prevents this transfer from going through at Villa Park.

Duran has already agreed personal terms with the Hammers and is therefore clearly happy to make the switch to the London Stadium.

He has struggled to make an impression in the West Midlands, and Villa should be biting West Ham's hand off for £35million.

Villa paid £18m to bring Duran to the club (via BBC Sport, 23 January, 2023).

This therefore represents a substantial profit on a player who isn't a first-team regular, not to mention the sell-on clause which is included.

As a result, it wouldn't be a surprise to see this deal go through.
