Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin has emerged as a potential candidate to replace Emi Martinez at Aston Villa.

And that will almost certainly be the main priority for the Villans, while also adding depth to other areas of the squad.

Many assumed that Martinez's exit would have happened several transfer windows ago, though this summer is looking the most likely.

Juventus are seemingly leading the race to sign the Argentine, who, according to reports, has already began house-hunting in Turin.

Trubin could be the chosen one to replace him.

And as per the latest reports, Benfica seem unlikely to stand in his way.

Who is Anatoliy Trubin?

Trubin may be a name not known by many, but it may only be a matter of time until it is.

The 24-year-old has made a name for himself at Benfica, where he has made 149 appearances, while also scoring a goal in the Champions League

However, his time there may be coming to an end with a report from A Bola, as relayed by Sports Witness, stating that Benfica would be open to offers for the goalkeeper.

With that said, it is also claimed that the offer would have to be "exciting" from a financial point of view, with Aston Villa seemingly the club at the front of the queue for him.

How much would Villa have to pay for Trubin?

The same report which mentions the interest also highlights the likely price.

It's believed that Benfica will only consider offers over £17million, with the Ukraine international likely to cost

Trubin has two years left on his current deal with the Portuguese side, meaning that they will be under no immediate pressure to sell him this summer.

With that said, if Villa have identified him as the number one target to replace Martinez, then it may be worth the investment.

At 24 years old, Trubin has years ahead of him before he reaches his prime, meaning that the Villans would likely be in safe hands (no pun intended) in that department for quite some time.
