Axel Disasi has made it clear that he wants to join Aston Villa with Chelsea yet to accept the defender's departure, according to TBR Football.

The online outlet reported on 31 January that as Chelsea stall over a deal to allow the defender to join Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season, Disasi is growing impatient with the West Londoners.

A deal between the two clubs could yet be struck, but the Villans had hoped Disasi would be due for a medical by the close of play on Saturday, with the centre-back making clear that he wants the move.

Disasi is clearly on the outer at Stamford Bridge given Chelsea's sheer plethora of players in seemingly every single position, whereas at present, Villa are at the other end of the spectrum in terms of depth.

Having sold Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce and with Tyrone Mings picking up a fresh knee injury in the past seven days, Unai Emery has a dearth of centre-back options at his disposal.

Bringing in a Premier League-ready defender to help bolster the Villans' depth, and on an initial loan deal, would be the ideal scenario for Villa, who are still bound by PSR constraints going back to last summer.

Jhon Duran's big-money move to Al-Nassr gives them much more leeway than they'd expected to have in the winter window, but the bulk of that transfer fee is likely to go towards a replacement forward.

Chelsea relenting and allowing Disasi to move to the West Midlands give Emery the options he needs at the back, and would allow Villa to turn their focus to matters further up the pitch.
