Luton Town midfielder Ross Barkley will clear a medical at Aston Villa if needed, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that despite two serious hamstring setbacks in the past, the 33-cap England international's fitness record has been relatively better over the past few seasons.

In the 2023-24 seasons, he had nine goal involvements in 32 league games and Fabrizio Romano reported on 3 June that a verbal agreement had been struck between Vila and Luton to sign the 30-year-old for £5million.

"Barkley suffered a gruelling hamstring injury in 2017 that kept him out for several months and one more in 2020, albeit not as intense.

"Apart from that, while game time has been an issue, he has not really faced any fitness woes.

"That's why I do not see any issues arising in his medical as he's been relatively injury free for a while."

Ross Barkley would be a solid addition for Aston Villa

The 30-year-old's performance at Luton Town demonstrated his capability as a strong, versatile midfielder, capable of adding depth and quality to the squad.

With Villa's recent success and ambitions to compete at the highest level, Barkley's experience and skills could be a valuable addition.

His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively aligns well with the team's needs.
