Aston Villa stance clear as Man City plot Heaven Kilwa transfer
Heaven Kilwa is reportedly a target for Manchester City, who are said to be preparing a move for the out-of-contract Aston Villa attacker.
With a busy summer schedule ahead, Unai Emery and his Aston Villa coaching staff will be planning ahead for their upcoming pre-season plans.
The Villa boss is sure to hand out some opportunities to a host of talented youngsters from the academy too, especially considering he's got a numbers of stars away at the World Cup.
Villa currently have a friendlies against Walsall in July as well as games against Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach in August respectively, as well as a UEFA Super Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Kilwa may not be featuring in any of Villa's pre-season matches, as the teenager braces himself for a hugely important few weeks ahead.
The versatile winger is currently on track to become a free agent this summer, and his signature looks set to be a highly coveted one if that's to be his fate.
Aston Villa want Heaven Kilwa to stay as Man City weigh up a move
Capped for England at both Under-15 and 16 levels respectively, Kilwa looks to be a very bright young talent for the future.
Still just 16-years old, Kilwa is a left winger by trade who has been turning heads in Aston Villa's youth ranks, and seemingly those of people from rival clubs too.
That's because a report from TheSecretScout via X has claimed that Man City are weighing up a move to sign Kilwa.
Kilwa is understood to be out of contract with Villa this summer, and the report claims that the current expectation is that he will indeed depart the club.
It's said that other clubs have also been tracking the Villans starlet, and could yet try and jump ahead of City in the queue to secure his services.
But the report ends by stating that Villa are still hoping that Kilwa will remain in the West Midlands this summer, suggesting that a contract offer may well be on the table for him.
How Kilwa fared in 2025-26
Kilwa didn't enter the Aston Villa first-team picture last season, which is to be expected given his tender age.
However, the winger did make six appearances for Villa's Under-18s in the U-18 Premier League, where he scored twice.
For England, meanwhile, he made 11 caps for the Under-16s, scoring once against Mexico and providing three assists against Spain, Argentina and the Netherlands respectively.
2025 also saw him represent the Three Lions four times at Under-15 level, where he found the net once against Japan back in mid-May.
