Morgan Rogers enjoyed a standout campaign for Aston Villa and impressed in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The English international scored 14 goals across all competitions and helped Unai Emery's side secure European football for a third consecutive season.

After winning Aston Villa’s Young Player of the Season award, the Birmingham club may struggle to keep hold of the young playmaker, though.

Arsenal eye Rogers after breakout season

Arsenal have now entered the race, with The Times reporting that the Londoners have added the playmaker to their target list for Mikel Arteta.

Profit and Sustainability Rules could pose a challenge for Aston Villa, though, with player sales expected as they look to bring in new quality.

Rogers is currently with the England national team as they prepare for their World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Senegal, so no movement is expected soon.

Villa face tough decisions as busy summer ahead

Aston Villa are entering a crucial phase under Unai Emery as the manager faces difficult decisions ahead.

The Midlands club is still reeling from missing out on the Champions League, with a costly referee error denying them a top-five finish.

Selling one of their best players this summer will be a blow for Villa, but smart transfers will be key if they are to target the Champions League again next season.

However, with other clubs strengthening around them, the challenge could prove tougher than in recent seasons.

Emery will have a big say in how it unfolds, having defied the odds since taking charge in 2022, despite early doubts about the Spaniard.

Villa fans have an interesting season ahead as European nights return to Villa Park once more, with hopes that Rogers will on that journey again too.
