Aston Villa now know how much to pay for Femi Azeez as £20m bid sent
Aston Villa know how they can get a deal for Millwall star Femi Azeez over the line this summer.
The 25-year-old is coming off the back of a stellar campaign in the Championship at The Den.
After joining the Lions from Reading in 2024, he has proven to be a true star in the second tier.
He contributed to 18 league goals throughout the season and proved himself among the best attackers in the division.
That prompted concrete interest in the January transfer window, although an exit never went through.
The door could now be open for Azeez to leave Millwall as Villa have been backed to make a deal happen.
Millwall asking price set for Femi Azeez after £20m rejection
Links to Ipswich Town were rife for the Nigeria international throughout the winter
A move never materialised as the Tractor Boys saw their bid rejected, leaving the forward to see out the season in East London.
Alex Neil's side weren't willing to accept £20m, but could welcome an increased bid in the coming weeks.
Former Millwall goalkeeper Bryan King believes his old side would take £25m for Azeez and has backed the Villans to swoop in.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: "Millwall have already turned down £20m from Ipswich for Azeez.
"If someone comes in with £25m, they will sell him. Villa are a club who would be able to pay that sort of fee. He would fit the bill and be able to settle into the squad.
"He's got pace and you can't make pace, but you can buy it. Players who can shift quickly create interest. Pace is something that every team needs and Azeez has that."
Azeez could be exactly what Aston Villa want
The B6 outfit are after a winger this summer and pace is the driving factor behind that.
There is a general lack of speed in the Villans' forward line, so a right-sided attacker is wanted in time for the new campaign.
Azeez could prove to be the ideal option after a stunning season at Millwall, especially at £25m.
That is a positive fee in today's day and age and he could prove to be the next Morgan Rogers after his improvement under Unai Emery.
It will be interested to see how the claret and blue outfit assess that move and whether the wide man could thrive in the Premier League.
