Aston Villa get welcome Andres Garcia news amid Sheffield United update
Sheffield United have considered a move to sign exit-bound Aston Villa man Andres Garcia.
The Spaniard looks destined to depart B6 this summer after a difficult spell since joining the Villans.
He hardly featured under Unai Emery this past season, with injuries taking their toll on his progress.
Even when he was given the opportunity to feature, he failed to impress and appeared to be below the required standard.
That has opened Garcia up to a Villa Park exit this summer, with Sheffield United interested in his signature.
Sheffield United seek Andres Garcia signing for squad depth
The 23-year-old just hasn't settled in wearing claret and blue after a positive start to life in the Premier League.
That all came crashing down after a frustrating error against Liverpool that let him down.
He has only made 18 appearances since signing from Levante, with just eight of those coming in the latest campaign.
That certainly isn't helpful for his development, so a temporary move elsewhere could make sense for all parties.
There is certainly interest in his signature and now Sheffield United have entered the race.
The Star reported on Friday that the Blades have had a look at Garcia previously.
Chris Wilder's side are keen on making a new right-back signing to add competition for Femi Seriki.
The Championship outfit have also been linked with Everton outcast Nathan Patterson, but could miss out on him if Rangers enter the race.
That could accelerate a move for the Villa man, especially with the B6 outfit keen to move the defender on this summer.
Aston Villa have already told Garcia to leave
Emery is seemingly keen on bringing a new right-back to the Midlands this summer after years trying to land competition for Matty Cash.
That would limit Garcia's minutes even further, so his exit has been given the green light in B6.
Spanish outlet Tribuna Deportiva reported on Monday that Villa have informed him that he can leave on loan this summer.
Valencia have shown interest, but having already utilised Sheffield United as a loan destination for Louie Barry, a move to Bramall Lane could be on the cards.
