Aston Villa are one of several clubs to have been monitoring Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham ahead of a potential transfer swoop, according to TBR Football.

The report (11 December) states that Villa have watched Jobe's performances this season alongside representatives of Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal.

The Black Cats reportedly value Jobe at over £16million (BILD) but may be unlikely to sell in January unless a satisfactory offer is made.

Jobe Bellingham would be a massive coup for Aston Villa

Perhaps more known as the brother of Jude Bellingham, Jobe has certainly made a name for himself in what has been an impressive campaign for the Black Cats.

Jobe was often utilised as a centre-forward for Sunderland last campaign, but his newly found eight role in the team has seen him thrive and earn him the interest of several European teams.

Not only would he offer excellent depth to Villa, but his potential is blinding and with the right development plan in place, the Villans could set themselves up with a midfield maestro for the foreseeable at what is a relatively small fee all things considered.

With that said, Sunderland are unlikely to entertain any offers in January as Jobe is a key part component to their promotion hopes, which have taken a hit since the start of November.

His acquisition would be an excellent bit of business but could prove to be a tricky one to pull off.
