Aston Villa defender Kosta Nedeljkovic is on the verge of joining RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season, according to Philipp Hinze.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist reported on 2 February that the Serbia international is already in Germany ahead of a medical later on Sunday (2 February).

Unai Emery has advised the 19-year-old to go out on loan and it is the Bundesliga side who look set to win the race for the right-back.

Kosta Nedeljkovic to leave Aston Villa for RB Leipzig on loan

It is fair to say that it hasn't quite worked out for the teenager at Villa Park since joining the squad in the summer, after completing a January transfer from Crvena Zvezda.

It appears that Emery doesn't fully trust Nedeljkovic which has seen him limited to just 121 minutes of Premier League action.

This has even sparked the Villans into bringing in a new full-back option with Andres Garcia arriving from Levante earlier in the window.

As a result, it makes total sense for the Serb to depart on loan, especially to a top side like Leipzig which will only be positive for his development in B6.
