Alejandro Garnacho could be done already, one outstanding 9/10 - Every Aston Villa signing ranked so far
Aston Villa were on among the busier clubs in the summer transfer window.
The Villans saw plenty of upheaval, with outgoings and incomings aplenty for Unai Emery's squad.
Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa, Lucas Digne, and Emiliano Martinez were among the high-profile departures this summer.
Consequently, Villa brought in 10 players this summer, with Zion Suzuki and Alejandro Garnacho among them.
Emery's side have had an indifferent start to the campaign, winning just once in the Premier League, but also taking three points in their Champions League opener and progressing from round three of the Carabao Cup.
Here, Villa News ranks every summer signing out of 10 so far.
Zion Suzuki - 9/10
Zion Suzuki earned big admirers during the summer after impressing for Japan at the World Cup.
The likes of Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were linked with his signature, but Villa won the race in a deal worth around £30million.
Suzuki signed a five-year deal to become Martinez's long-term successor, and the 23-year-old already looks a really astute signing.
Villa may have had their early season struggles, but Suzuki has been excellent between the sticks, making several big saves and showing his excellence with distribution.
He already has 15 saves, and prevented 0.63 goals from just four Premier League outings.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 6/10
Villa needed competition for Matty Cash at right-back, and landed on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined on loan with a conditional buy clause from West Ham.
The DR Congo full-back has been steady away so far, starting four games so far including wins over Club Brugge and Coventry City (in the EFL Cup), and coming off the bench in the weekend win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Wan-Bissaka, 28, is a steady Premier League performer and his performances have been pretty solid so far for Villa.
Matteo Ruggeri - 6/10
Much like the arrival of Wan-Bissaka, the signing of Matteo Ruggeri was a needs-must scenario.
With Digne returning to France with PSG, Villa needed left-back competition for Ian Maatsen.
Several names were linked but Villa landed on Ruggeri, and the Italian has made four appearances so far.
Much like Wan-Bissaka, Ruggeri has been steady away without pulling up any trees so far.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis - 5/10
It is hard to judge Taylor Harwood-Bellis so far, given he has made just one appearance since joining from Southampton.
That came in the EFL Cup win over Coventry, a game in which he looked reasonably assured in fairness.
You get the sense the one-cap England international will get more game after the international break.
Leon Goretzka - N/A
Aston Villa moved to sign Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka on a free transfer after he left Bayern Munich.
The 31-year-old has not kicked a ball in anger for Emery's side yet, though, due to a knee injury.
He is not expected back until the middle of October and, as such, it would not be fair to give him a rating yet.
Joao Gomes - 3/10
Signed from rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers after Youri Tielemans was sold to Manchester United, it was not the start Joao Gomes was looking for.
The Brazil international was sent off on his Premier League debut as Villa were hammered 4-0 at Brighton.
He also struggled in the UEFA Super Cup defeat to PSG on his first competitive outing.
However, he has been involved in victories over Club Brugge and Tottenham, so his score is not as low as it could be, and hopefully his Villa career can kick on when club action resumes.
Johan Manzambi - 7/10
Villa forked out a club-record fee of just under £60million to sign Johan Manzambi from Freiburg.
The 20-year-old had an excellent World Cup with Switzerland and was drawing attention from Newcastle United as well.
Annoyingly, Manzambi arrived at Villa injured, so we haven't see a great deal of the attacking midfielder yet.
But the bits we have seen, you can sense that he could be a real top performer for the Villans.
Indeed, Manzambi had a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win over Tottenham, and there is hope he could have a big impact this term.
Ibrahim Mbaye - 5/10
Signed on deadline day in a big-money move from PSG, Ibrahim Mbaye very much feels like a signing with a high ceiling.
The winger has only a handful of appearances thus far, and only one start in the EFL Cup - a game in which he did get an assist.
You sense there will be plenty more opportunities to come for the 18-year-old after the international break.
Alejandro Garnacho - 2/10
This may seem harsh, and honestly the rating is as much for Vill as it is for Garnacho.
It felt an odd signing in the first play, as Villa agreed a loan with a conditional buy deal with Chelsea for the Argentine winger.
He had a dismal campaign with the Blues last term, then found the start to his season disrupted by a concussion sustained in pre-season.
So far, Garnacho has just 36 minutes of Premier League football to this name, and has spent the past four matches (across all competitions) sat on the bench.
There is a sense of deja vu after what happened with Harvey Elliott's loan from Liverpool last season.
Is there a chance that Garnacho is finished at Villa already? It may sound drastic, but it also feels entirely possible.
Nicolas Jackson - 7/10
Another player who found himself bombed at Chelsea, but Nicolas Jackson's signing made way more sense.
Already know to Emery from their time working together at Villarreal, Jackson filled an urgent need given Watkins' departure for Al-Hilal.
Jackson is off the mark in the Champions League, and now the Premier League after he scored against Spurs last time out.
The Senegal striker is still finding his feet at Villa, but there is a hope he can ultimately replace the goals lost by Watkins' sale.
