Aston Villa will hope their season has turned a corner heading into the international break.

Unai Emery's side punched their ticket to round four of the Carabao Cup by beating Coventry City 3-1 last Wednesday.

Perhaps more importantly, the Villa ran out 3-2 winners at Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend to get a first Premier League win of the campaign.

Villa still 16th in the table, but at least have something to build on after their victory in North London.

Emery will have a chance now to take stock over the international break and work on a few issues that cropped up early in the season.

Here, Villa News looks at three questions to emerge from the past seven days at Villa Park.

Have Aston Villa now turned a corner?

Much like last season, Villa have been slow out of the blocks in the Premier League.

They had taken just one point from the first four Premier League games - that coming in the goalless draw with Hull City at the start of September.

But they won their first Champions League game at Club Brugge, and knocked Coventry out of the Carabao Cup.

And now they have the monkey off their back in the top flight, too, so hopefully now they can really kick on in the league.

Is Alejandro Garnacho already finished at Aston Villa?

Villa signed Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea in the summer on an initial loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy.

But there is a sense that the Argentine winger may be in the same rough ride as Harvey Elliott experienced at Villa Park last season.

Garnacho has made three sub appearnaces so far, amounting to just 36 minutes of Premier League action.

He was not involved at all against Coventry in the Carabao Cup, a game that would have seemed a good fit to get him involved.

Garnacho seems well down the pecking order under Emery, and it does beg the question already of if there is a way back for him.

Is Zion Suzuki going to to be Villa's signing of the season?

Zion Suzuki was a man in demand after a strong World Cup showing with Japan.

Moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus ultimately didn't happen, and their loss was Villa's gain.

The 24-year-old, signed from as the long-term successor to Emi Martinez, was terrific in the win over Tottenham.

Suzuki made five saves in total, as well as making four high claims.

He'll have been disappointed Villa couldn't keep a clean sheet, but he played a big role in the victory with some good stops in the first half particularly.
