Juventus have earmarked Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz as a potential alternative for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes, as per Sky Italia.

Reporting on their transfer live blog (29 August), Sky Italia shares that the Old Lady are looking at a plan B option as they are struggling to strike a deal for Paredes.

Luiz has emerged as a potential option for them, and it remains to be seen if they come up with a formal offer for the Brazilian.

No way

Aston Villa have made a poor start to their new season, and Steven Gerrard needs his best players to step up in the coming weeks and turn things around.

The Villans have lost three games already out of four, and they are due to face the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City next. However, a run of good results will bring back the confidence in the side, and Villa are more than capable of doing that.

Luiz is a key player for Villa, and it would be a massive blow for the club if they are to lose him towards the end of the window.

Aston Villa

Paredes remains the first option for Juve, but they are finding it hard to broker a deal with PSG.

A move to Juventus and Champions League football could tempt Luiz if at all Juve come up with an offer, but Villa should resist all temptations thrown at them.

There isn't enough time left in the market to sign a quality replacement. Put it simply: Douglas Luiz is not for sale.
