Jurgen Klopp makes Gerrard-Liverpool admission ahead of Aston Villa clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits that it is possible that Steven Gerrard succeeds him at Anfield after his Aston Villa stint.

Even before he became a manager, Gerrard was always tipped to take over the Liverpool job - given his successes there as a player.

The moment he left Rangers for Aston Villa, many felt that it's inevitable for him to succeed Klopp and the German manager also shares that thought.

Klopp recently extended his deal at Anfield until the summer of 2026 which means that he plans on staying at the club for the foreseeable future.

This was welcomed by the fans and players as he's undoubtedly one of the greatest managers in the club's history.

For Gerrard to walk into his shoes, he's going to have to do a number of things perfectly to not only be a success but also get the job.

The board will surely favour him and give him a bit of grace due to his good relationships with the hierarchy and the fans.

The Kop will also be warmer to him in comparison to other managers but there's only little room he'll get once results don't go his way.

Right now, it will be best for him to stay put at Villa Park and build something significant there as the owners are certainly going to back him in the summer.
