Jamie Carragher is confident of a routine win for Aston Villa in Wednesday's Champions League clash with Viking.

The Villans have a 100 per cent record across their first two matches in the league phase of the competition.

Unai Emery's men were 3-2 winners away at Club Brugge in their opener, before thumping Fenerbahce 6-0 at Villa Park last week.

That was the Villans' biggest ever European victory in terms of the scoreline and leaves them nicely on track to advance to the knockouts.

Next up is a visit from Norwegian side Viking, who are making their debut in the Champions League proper this season.

Viking were beaten 3-1 by Stuttgart in their only away game so far, before playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich last time out.

What history could be made by Viking vs Aston Villa?

Viking's point at home to Bayern shows they cannot be completely underestimated, even if Villa are the strong favourites.

The Norwegians may be newbies to this competition, but they have previously taken part in the European Cup.

Unfortunately for them, they do not have the best of record in UEFA's elite club competition.

In fact, if they lose in the West Midlands on Wednesday night, they will make history as only the second side - along with Tirana - to lose each of their first eight away matches in the Champions League and European Cup.

They have shipped 22 goals in that period, including three against Stuttgart in their only away game this campaign.

Predicting the result for Sky Sports' Super 6, Carragher backed Villa to inflict another defeat on Viking as he went with a 3-0 home win.

The remarkable Real Madrid company Aston Villa could find themselves in

Villa have found some momentum under Emery after a poor start to the campaign.

Continuing to climb up the Premier League is key, but for now focus is on this latest European clash.

Remarkably, if Villa win this game they will become the second-fastest team to reach 20 European Cup/ Champions League wins, doing so in their 30th match.

Real Madrid are the only side to better that - just - having won 20 of their first 29.

Villa have certainly not looked out of their depth on the biggest stage, which is testament to Emery and his players.
