Unai Emery has clearly set his sights on improving Alejandro Garnacho at Aston Villa.

The Argentina international has come in from Chelsea and certainly has a point to prove.

He was ridiculed last season in his debut year at Stamford Bridge and has now been forced out.

That has only benefited the Villans as they have moved to improve their wide options.

The signing of the 22-year-old has garnered mixed reviews, but Emery is clearly confident.

The Argentine has stepped through the doors in B6 and needs to prove himself in claret and blue.

He will get that chance after some frustrating years both on and off the pitch.

There has been plenty of annoyance aimed towards the forward from both Chelsea and Manchester United fans.

The Spaniard spoke out after Garnacho's signing to say: "We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy."

That in itself isn't anything crazy, but it has to be noted that his quotes weren't included in announcements for Johan Manzambi or Joao Gomes this summer.

That points towards the head coach being behind this signing and just how closely he is going to work to get the best out of the Argentine.

What can Aston Villa expect from Garnacho?

It feels as if Garnacho has become one of the most over-hated players in the entire Premier League.

Most people at Chelsea can't stand him, but he hasn't put up bad numbers in recent years.

Despite being far from his best at Stamford Bridge, he still contributed to 12 goals and assists across all competitions.

That followed on from 21 goal involvements with Man United the year before.

Garnacho took 2.34 shots per 90 last season, while also creating 2.06 chances for his teammates for the Blues.

That was added to by 0.99 dribbles as he swung in 0.57 crosses per game on average.

What will catch Emery's eye as well is his 4.97 defensive actions per 90, which is useful for a winger.

Those numbers will surely be boosted under the Spaniard as Villa Park could soon see the best of Garnacho in claret and blue.
