Aston Villa starlet Johan Manzambi helped his Switzerland side to a comfortable win over Scotland.

Tuesday night saw Murat Yakin's men travel to Glasgow to take on Scotland in the UEFA Nations League.

Fresh off the back of a 3-0 win over North Macedonia, the Swiss will have been confident of a victory against Sebastien Pocognoli's team.

Scotland were winless in three games ahead of Tuesday's game, and that run has now been stretched to four.

Switzerland ran out 3-0 winners at Hampden, on a night in which they took full advantage of Jack Hendry's 11th-minute red card.

Manzambi started the game and played just over an hour, and his performance has seen the Villa midfielder draw a glowing review.

Since joining from Freiburg in the summer, Manzambi has had to shake off an injury problem before being ready to play for Aston Villa.

Indeed, the most recent game against Tottenham was the first extended opportunity for Unai Emery and fans alike to get a good look at the midfielder.

His performance in that 3-2 win was superb, with his goal and assist for Nicolas Jackson's goal as well as all-round play making it hard to draw your eyes away from the 20-year-old.

"Manzambi had irritated the home support by embellishing fouls and entering into a verbal spat with Oli McBurnie," they wrote.

"His play, though, was a compelling watch. Manzambi’s movement unnerved Scotland.

"His willingness to drop deep or wide to get involved in the game emphasised his versatility. Manzambi’s touch and dribbling ability set him apart; all at the age of just 20."

Operating as the number 10, his performance was one that saw the home side incapable of keeping him in check.

Per FotMob, no player on the pitch completed more dribbles than Manzambi's three.

Meanwhile, he also completed 92 per cent of his passes, had two shots on goal, won four fouls and won seven of his eight ground duels.

He played four passes into the final third, made one recovery, took three touches in the Scotland box and wasn't dispossessed once.

In short, whether it be in the duels or as a creative force, Scotland couldn't live with Manzambi, and was head and shoulders above his opposition.
