Dan Bardell was stunned by Emi Martinez after his world class second half save for Aston Villa against Juventus.

The Villlans took just a point in the Champions League in controvertial circumstances as Morgan Rogers' late strike was ruled out for a foul.

Unai Emery's side could have easily fallen behind if it wasn't for the Argentina international who made a superb save from Chico Conceicao right on the goalline.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell didn't have enough superlatives to describe the 32-year-old after yet a stunning Villa Park moment.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: "Juventus didn't make too much happen but there's no doubt it's a tremendous save.

"It's a save that changed the course of the game because Villa should have gone one down at that moment, it's an absolutely ridiculous save from Emi Martinez on the night where he showed off his two Yashin Trophies.

"It's the best save I've seen this season.

"Villa have only let one goal in, in the Champions League so I think that Martinez and the defence can be really proud of."

Supporters inside Villa Park were in awe as the ex-Arsenal goalkeeper clawed the ball off the line before Rogers swung a leg to clear and keep the score level.

With almost any other shotstopper on the planet, the Old Lady score and potentially take away all three points from the West Midlands.

Martinez made a point winning impact on the game, despite not hvaing much to do throughout the game.

On another day, the Villans' late winner isn't chalked off and the Argentine is praised for ultimately keeping his side in the game which just sums up his importance in B6.
