Brian Madjo can become Aston Villa's secret weapon as social media hints at next steps
Brian Madjo may be ready to become a first-team asset for Aston Villa next season.
The 17-year-old sealed a move to Villa Park as an unknown in January after impressing at Metz in France.
He made five first-team appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit before the Villans stepped in to seal his signature.
Things haven't worked out since then after FIFA rejected his registration because he was under 18 and joining from abroad.
That sparked the B6 outfit into life to appeal the decision and get some use out of their £10million signing.
There has been no official verdict of that case, but Madjo himself has hinted at a result that could be music to the ears of the claret and blue faithful.
What has Brian Madjo posted about the upcoming Premier League season?
It has been hugely disappointing and frustrating that the English-born striker has been unable to feature since his January move.
He had a perfect chance to make an impression last season while Ollie Watkins was struggling infront of goal.
The teenager clearly has a stellar work rate and is willing to wait for his opportunity and has pointed towards that being imminent.
That ultimately passed him by and he has been forced to watch on rather than feature in any capacity.
He re-posted an Instagram story on Friday that featured footage of him training in a Villa away shirt.
That was accompanied by the caption, "Premier League next season ain't ready yet my boy, we working."
The post could be interpreted in many ways, but many fans in B6 have assumed that this means he could be preparing to feature next season, which could prove to be ideal for the Villans.
How Madjo could make a difference for Aston Villa next season
Unai Emery is in the midst of yet another summer where finances are going to cause a problem.
Utilising what he has is going to be paramount, but the introduction of Madjo would certainly be like a new signing.
He is six foot four and makes his presence known in the air having won 1.72 aerial duels per 90 in his spell in France.
The England youth international also won 3.44 ground duels per game.
That doesn't reflect well on Tammy Abraham who won less with 3.23 ground and 1.61 aerial duels after his return to B6 in January.
Madjo will bring a point of difference and has proven in training footage that he could prove to be explosive in claret and blue.
He also brings an ability to win fouls having won 1.72 per 90 while at Metz last season.
All that could see him become a secret weapon for Emery given how little opposition sides will know about him.
Villa just need to hope that they win their case against FIFA so that the striker can become an option in the Premier League next season.
