Aston Villa's 'phenomenal success' comes at cost after what they've been told by UEFA
Aston Villa have endured a difficult transfer window, with just a handful of signings at Villa Park.
Evann Guessand is the highest-profile addition for Unai Emery, having arrived from Nice for an initial £26million.
On the flip side, Villa sold academy product Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle United, representing pure PSR profit.
Despite making around £40m for Ramsey, the Villans have been warned about future transfer activity.

Aston Villa must appease UEFA amid Jacob Ramsey sale
Aston Villa could replace Ramsey, but there is no guarantee the fee yielded from his transfer will be used on players.
Now, football finance expert Dan Plumley - speaking exclusively to Villa News - has provided insight on the situation.
"They've had phenomenal success on the pitch, but it comes at a cost, and this is more now about where they're at with UEFA rather than Premier League PSR," he said.
"So they were fined £9.5m, but there's a further, nearly £130m that's conditional on compliance over the next three years, and part of that agreement is to have a positive transfer balance at the end of this window.
"They're in that place now where that's obviously achievable. This sale, of course, helps with that, and it's pure profit from a PSR perspective from the Premier League's point of view.

"It's all aligned now with trying to make sure that they're on that path with UEFA, that they're working on this glide path that they've called it, so they know what they need to do, but their wages to turnover ratio has been high in recent years and that's something that UEFA have have have told them to get down.
"So they know where they're at and ultimately, it's tricky because of the success they've had, and now they've got to sell some of these players, but, principally again, we can see what's behind this move and it's because they've pushed upright against the regulations, and ultimately have had to be fined by UEFA.
"It's unlikely that any transfer of money is going to be able to go back into spending on players. It's all aligned with getting back on the right path with UEFA moving forward."
Who could replace Jacob Ramsey at Villa Park?
While it seems that the West Midlands club may not replace Ramsey, there is every chance they could do some business.
If so, there are a few names who have been linked with a move to Villa Park, including Marco Asensio.
Aston Villa have reportedly agreed personal terms with Asensio, who spent last season on loan with the Villans.
Of course, it would be interesting to see his potential earnings as he is bound to be on a hefty salary at PSG.
Against Newcastle, Villa did not pose much of a threat, meaning they should replace Ramsey if possible.
