Aston Villa have preparations in place ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

The Villans ended the campaign in the best possible way after lifting the Europa League trophy in Istanbul.

Champions League football is now in store for next season as Unai Emery prepares for his fourth full-season in B6.

The Spaniard has his eye on several potential new signings as he looks to improve his squad for another year in Europe's elite competition.

There is increasing levels of excitement about how the claret and blue outfit could line up moving forward.

Fans will be keen to see the Villans in action as Villa News rounds up everything you need to know about their pre-season schedule.

When do Aston Villa return to pre-season training?

It may not be too long until selected B6 stars return to Bodymoor Heath for early training sessions.

Last season, the first crop of players came through the doors on 7 July after their summer break came to an end.

That didn't include those who had featured on international duty, something which will be mirrored by the World Cup 12 months later.

A similar date could be expected for non-World Cup stars, but with the summer tournament to finish on 19 July, others will likely return weeks after that.

FIFA have a 21-day break enforced after a player is eliminated from the competition, which is likely to leave many big-names with a tight turnaround for the start of the campaign.

Aston Villa have annual Walsall friendly booked in

There is one customary pre-season fixture that almost always starts a summer of preparations.

A trip to face Walsall at the Bescot Stadium is a tradition that all supporters look forward to.

Last summer's outing ended in a 3-0 victory and Villa will hope for a similar result in the upcoming edition.

Emery will lead his side to WS1 on 21 July and will kick-off at 7:30pm.

Another Bescot Stadium clash will follow, with Villa set to face off against Real Sociedad a week later on 28 July, also at 7:30pm.

Both fixtures will both be shown live on Villa TV which will be available to season ticket holders and members.

What other pre-season games have Aston Villa confirmed?

It looks set to be a massively busy pre-season for the claret and blue outfit after their meetings in Walsall.

The Villans will jet to Indonesia in the days after the Real Sociedad clash for an exhibition in Jakarta.

A 1 August outing against Indonesia All Stars is penned in for a 7pm kick-off at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

The travelling doesn't stop there as a trip to Thailand is next to face BG Pathum United just three days later on 4 August.

The True BG Stadium in Pathum Thani will play host to a 7:30pm friendly, before a final clash of the Asia tour against Bayern Munich on 7 August.

Villa were regularly rumoured to be facing the Bundesliga giants as part of the Audi Football Summit.

That was announced in April and will see the two face off at Kai Tak Stadium in a 8pm kick-off.

The UEFA Super Cup against PSG follows in Salzburg on 12 August 8pm, before a final pre-season clash against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Borussia Park will host a 3:30pm friendly as Villa see out their summer of preparations on 15 August.

That will leave the Villans with an eight day gap before opening their Premier League campaign away to Brighton.

All these outings away from the UK will also be available on Villa TV as the B6 outfit commit to showing all pre-season games live.
