Aston Villa vs Burnley result predicted by supercomputer
Unai Emery has steered the Aston Villa ship back on the right path after a rocky start to the season.
Villa beat Feyenoord 2-0 on Thursday in the Europa League and continued their newfound form on their trip to the Netherlands.
John McGinn and Emiliano Buendia got the all-important goals, but Emery was full of praise for goalkeeper Marco Bizot.
The midweek result followed on from Villa's 3-1 win against Fulham at Villa Park in their last Premier League outing, which earned Emery his first three points of the domestic campaign.
Attentions now turn to Sunday as the Villans host Scott Parker's Burnley.
Aston Villa overwhelming favourites against Burnley
The travelling Villa fans were on top form in Rotterdam and they'll be needed once again as they return home to Villa Park.
Villa's opponents this weekend have had a difficult start on their return to the top flight, as Burnley round off the relegation spots in 18th.
The Lancashire side are yet to avoid defeat on the road, with their four points all coming at Turf Moor.
Parker sculpted an impenetrable team in the Championship last season as the Clarets earned automatic promotion back to the Premier League, and conceded just 16 goals in the league all year.
Already, they have shipped 13 goals after six games and have let in the second most goals out of all 20 Premier League teams, level with Wolves - only West Ham have conceded more.
Burnley's winless last five games and Villa's unbeaten four-game run have been reflected in the Opta supercomputer's prediction for the game.
Villa have been given a 68.4% chance of emerging from the game with all three points and 17.5% likelihood of the scores ending level.
A Burnley win is coming at a 14.1% chance of happening.
Only Arsenal in their home game against West Ham have a higher chance of winning than Aston Villa ahead of the weekend.
Aston Villa need to be aware of Burnley's Jaidon Anthony
Despite the chasm in the two sides' chances of being victorious at Villa Park, Emery's side cannot rest on their laurels.
Burnley have quality in the squad that can make a difference come 14:00 on Sunday.
Anthony has been in fine form in front of goal, and he has already found the back of the net on four occasions.
- Anthony has five goal contributions in six league games (four goals, one assist)
- He is scoring a goal every 133 minutes on average.
- He leads the Burnley squad for shots taken, shots on target, and dribbles completed per game.
Mainly playing off the left wing, Villa's right back will have to be switched on and wary of Burnley's key man.
