Andy Townsend raved over Aston Villa attacker Leon Bailey who nearly set up a Jacob Ramsey goal v Manchester United.

The Villans played host to United on 11 February and ended up losing the game 2-1 despite creating a number of good openings for themselves.

Bailey, who started on the right wing was extremely lively and his stats, as provided by Sofascore, back up just how dominant he was.

Speaking on Premier League Promotions' live feed on 11 February at 5:50 pm, Townsend, a talkSPORT pundit said: "See how well he's done there. Everyone thought he would lay it up for Watkins but it's phenomenal playing on Ramsey there. He perhaps wasn't expecting it."

Class display from the Aston Villa attacker

Bailey's performance, despite Aston Villa's loss against United, showcased his versatility and effectiveness on the pitch.

With 21 passes completed out of 24, boasting an 88% accuracy rate, Bailey demonstrated his ability to maintain possession and distribute the ball effectively.

His two key passes highlight his creativity and vision, contributing to Villa's attacking opportunities.

Additionally, completing all three dribbles attempted with 100% accuracy underscores his exceptional skill in beating defenders and driving the ball forward.

Furthermore, winning four out of five ground duels and one out of his only attempted aerial duel illustrates Bailey's tenacity and physical presence, both defensively and offensively.

Despite the defeat, the Jamaican's individual performance stood out as a bright spot for Aston Villa, showcasing his all-around abilities and impact on the game.
