Former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi's past Premier League experience may come in handy should he move to Aston Villa, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that he'll be used to the physicality and pace of the English top flight and that could see the 25-year-old adapt quicker, with him currently plying his trade at Lazio.

Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson [CaughtOffside, 11 May] reported that Villa are keen on signing the France international with L’Equipe claiming it'll cost £35m to prise him away.

"He had a calf injury this past season but it just kept him out for two weeks.

"He has coped with the physicality in the Premier League, being a former Arsenal player.

"It’s hard to say if being in the top flight previously will reduce chances of an injury but it certainly can’t hurt, at the very least, he will understand the difference in physicality and demands between the leagues.

"In his case, the club will be looking for yellow or red flags such as outliers in his medical."

Aston Villa must be wary of Matteo Guendouzi valuation

While Guendouzi may add energy to this Villa midfield, the club must be wary of how much they pay for him.

The Frenchman is a versatile midfielder who can play in multiple positions across the midfield.

He has experience playing in the Premier League with Arsenal, which could help him adapt quickly to the demands of English football.

Aston Villa stadium Villa Park is one of the most famous in the country.

The 25-year-old has a strong work ethic and is not afraid to put in a defensive shift when needed so there certainly are benefits in signing him.
