Aston Villa’s Premier League fixtures have now been released for the 2025/26 campaign.

On top of this, Villa have a streak of home fixtures after their Europa League ties, which will be a big boost for the Birmingham outfit.

Now, the Claret and Blue side has finally ended a 15-year streak which has lasted since 2010.

Aston Villa set to play at home in Premier League game week one for first time since 2010

Aston Villa’s opening Premier League game this season will take place at Villa Park against Newcastle United.

The Magpies pipped Emery’s side to a Champions League spot last season on the final day thanks to the Birmingham outfit’s defeat against Manchester United.

Now, Villa have a chance to get revenge against Newcastle on 16 August.

However, whatever happens, the Villa Park faithful are already set to witness a rare sight in game week one.

The 2025/26 campaign is the first time since 2010 that the Birmingham outfit will play at home in front of fans for their opening fixture in the Premier League.

Since then, they have had a home tie in the 2020/21 campaign when they played Sheffield United behind closed doors.

Villa’s last opening Premier League fixture in front of their fans came in their 3-0 victory over West Ham in the 2010/11 season.

Newcastle will be a massive test for Aston Villa

Villa could have a much-changed side for the Newcastle tie when the fixture comes around.

Therefore, for any new signings, it could be a baptism of fire at Villa Park against the Champions League outfit.

A victory will be expected by the home fans, and they cannot afford a repeat of the Newcastle opening day defeat from two years ago.

Hopefully, Emery has a plan for the match and can take three points off his European rivals, getting off to the perfect start.
