Aston Villa ace Youri Tielemans has been at the core of the Premier League club's success this season.

Having made 52 appearances for the West Midlands outfit, the midfielder has helped Villa to fight on all fronts.

His presence has been missed in recent weeks as Tielemans has been absent with a calf injury.

Unsurprisingly, the Belgian's fine form has been rewarded after the Villa Park club made a significant announcement.

Aston Villa reward Tielemans for superb season

As the end of the season looms large, there is time to reflect on the standout players of the season.

For Villa, there are several players who have caught the eye while playing domestically and in the Champions League.

Morgan Rogers would be the first name on many people's lips as he has posed a lethal threat in attack.

John McGinn and Ollie Watkins are two other players who have caught the eye at Villa Park.

However, Tielemans is the man being recognised for his contributions and is sometimes overlooked despite his clear talent.

Indeed, the 28-year-old's work has not gone unnoticed by his club, with the Belgian receiving the Supporters’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards.

His double scoop was announced at Aston Villa's End of Season Awards during a prestigious ceremony in the Lower Grounds at Villa Park on Wednesday (22 May).

Tielemans can drive Villa forward

During his days with Leicester City, Tielemans demonstrated he was a player with vast potential.

It felt like every summer there were links with top clubs, but it seemed that his quality might go to waste.

However, during his time at Villa Park, the Belgium international has taken his game to another level, and he shows no signs of stopping.

Tielemans is an experienced head in central-midfield and has worked wonders alongside the wily McGinn.

Frustratingly, the 28-year-old is a doubt for the Villans' final Premier League match of the season against Man United.

The clash with the Red Devils has significant implications as Unai Emery's side must win to have a chance of securing Champions League football.

Given United's torrid form, Villa will be expected to claim a win even if Tielemans is missing through injury.

Whatever the outcome, the Belgian is the beating heart of Villa and can drive to West Midlands club forward.
