Aston Villa ace Johan Manzambi has picked up rave reviews after his latest showing for Switzerland.

The midfielder joined the Villans in the summer, choosing B6 over a plethora of interested clubs.

The 20-year-old has come to Villa Park with plenty of hype behind him, showcasing why Unai Emery was so keen on him after grabbing a goal and an assist against Tottenham.

Manzambi has had a delayed start to his Aston Villa career, but has been getting healthy minutes for Switzerland in the Nations League.

He helped his country to a 3-0 win over North Macedonia on Tuesday, once again impressing the Swiss media.

Aston Villa may have struck gold with Manzambi, and his current form is only a boost for Emery.

Why Johan Manzambi 'literally transformed' Switzerland vs North Macedonia

Emery will have been somewhat anxious to have seen Manzambi leave Bodymoor Heath almost three weeks ago, considering the latter's recent fitness issues.

But the youngster has now racked up 261 minutes for his nation while on international duty, coming on at half-time against North Macedonia.

Manzambi created the most chances in the game with three, as two of them were deemed big chances.

The attacking midfielder had an 83 per cent passing accuracy and completed 100 per cent of his attempted crosses.

He successfully completed three of his four dribbles, winning a whopping 75 per cent of ground duels.

Hommedumatch gave the versatile attacker an 8.5/10 rating and their Man of the Match pick, explaining: "Coming on at half-time, he literally transformed the face of Switzerland.

"He was rewarded in the 73rd minute with a superb goal, with a long-range shot taken boldly after a good phase of Swiss possession."

Watson handed Manzambi a 5.5/6 rating, writing: "He is indispensable for this team. Not only because of his goal to make it 2-0, but because he carries the team along with his enthusiasm and class."

Blick did not give him a rating as he didn't start, but wrote: "A very energetic second half, during which he brought a lot of positivity and freshness.

"If he keeps that mindset for as long as possible, this young guy will have a great career."

Manzambi earned an 8.2 FotMob rating and has a 100 per cent win record with Switzerland this international break.

His country now sits top of Group 1 in the Nations League with 12 points from a possible 12, with a return to Bodymoor looming.

Why Aston Villa will thank Manzambi after latest showing

Conveniently for Villa, Manzambi played his least amount of football for the Swiss against North Macedonia.

This means he has several days to rest before the Villans take on Brentford on Saturday, where he will be pushing to start.

Manzambi managed 72 minutes against Tottenham last time out, which was his first start for the B6 side.

Emery also likes of Emi Buednia, John McGinn, Alejandro Garnacho and Ibrahim Mbaye to choose from in the final third now.

Villa have won their last three games, and will be hoping that the break hasn't cost them any momentum.

Manzambi certainly won't be short of momentum heading into the clash at Villa Park.
