Aston Villa now look back to their best after putting four goals past Nottingham Forest at Villa Park on Saturday (24 February).

Unai Emery may have been left frustrated that his side conceded twice in the 4-2 Premier League win, but he can have no complaints about the situation at the other end of the pitch.

Attackers Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey scored the first and final goals respectively, with a brace from midfield star Douglas Luiz arriving in between.

The Brazilian was in superb form at Villa Park, shining in various areas to help Villa cement their top four spot in the Premier League table.

Along with his double, the midfielder completed 59 of his 61 passes (97%) in a stunning display on the ball, with two of his three long balls being accurate [Sofascore].

Moreover, Luiz had two shots on target and one shot blocked, as well as making two tackles to help out his defence.

The display wowed those watching on inside Villa Park, as well as former Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, with the Manchester City ace commenting on the Brazilian’s Instagram post after the match.

The all-round masterclass simply reinforces Villa’s need to keep the player in the Midlands for as long as possible, amid links to Premier League giants Arsenal.

Losing him would be a massive blow, with the 25-year-old now on 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season [Transfermarkt].
